Good Evening I found this forum as I was searching for information on SB.

Last Friday my wife and I went in for the big 22 week ultrasound to find out if we were having a boy or a girl. We left with news that we were having a boy but he had fluid on the brain and no assurances that he would survive past birth.

Monday morning we were at the doctor for a more advanced ultrasound. We found out the cause for the fluid was SB. They believe the lesion is in L2/L3. Aside from the SB and hydrocephalus he has club feet.

At this point we have more questions than answers a lot of which I understand we wont have answers to for awhile until he hits or misses milestones. We meet with the neurologist next month to hear what he has to say.

I am very impressed by everyone's posts here and how the parents have been able to raise their kids with self confidence and high self esteem.

We are trying to educate ourselves as best we can prior to April. We look forward to getting to know all of you.

Hi Brooks!

Welcome. I know it is a very hard, scary, confusing time for you right now. As you come up with questions, just post them and we will try our best to answer!

Is this your first baby? Congratulations by the way! and is the baby a girl or boy?

Thank You Barb

This is going to be our second child. Our first is a little girl named Maya who is almost a year now. Our new baby is going to be a precious baby boy, his name will be Preston. I am hoping Preston will strive to keep up with his energetic older sister.

C was my second as well. I was so glad because I felt like I had a little bit of the learning curve mastered at least :) I have found that having an older sibling has been such a blessing. It gives C a great role model and sort of an instant network of friends and it has taught my older one so much about life.
