Hello Folks,
I'm new to the board. Glad to be here and look forward to some dialogue.
I have Spina Bifida, was diagnosed as an infant with meningocele, I'm able to still walk, but have had several operations, including a kidney transplant. Currently, I've been diagnosed with a tethered cord which is causing some problems.
Look forward to speaking with you!

Hi Trout.
Welcome on board!
(Its probably high time I reposted my "bio", so here goes!)
I'm Roger, 41 years old, Myelo at L3 (L2 partially affected too), Fulltime wheelchair user, South African. IT geek and wannabe high school teacher. I'm the 3rd of 4 children and uncle of 5.
BTW what's the story behind your rather unusual nic?

Do you fish? Some here on this site might think bum, is referring to your butt.
Trout butt? Or bum because you loaf about fishing for trout?

Trout Bum,i.e., trout fishing addict. When I can I try to get out and fish. Since I live in the mountains the trout fishing is great in Utah.

FYI for Brits, South Africans, Australians and New Zealanders (who all think a "bum" is a rear end) -- in the US a bum is, in the most literal sense, a person who's lazy, doesn't work, or homeless and a panhandler. (A more old-fashioned term is "hobo".) But it is commonly used, as Trout Bum uses it, in a not literal sense to mean what you do when you are loafing around, i.e., not working. So when you say "I'm just bumming around" you mean you're not doing much of anything with your free time -- just hangin' out. A person can be a "golf bum" or "coffee house bum," etc.
Isn't it funny how we speak the same language, but not always?

It has the same meaning here, in addition to the anatomical meaning.
BTW The American "fanny" is a much ruder part of female anatomy here in SA and I guess elsewhere in the "old empire" too.
"Nic" is just a contraction of "nickname", used particularly to refer to online pseudonyms.
