When I was pregnant with both of my children (both having SB), every night at 9-10pm, both would get the hiccups. No, they're not twins - 2 different births. :p This was a continual issue with both, from about 5 months on. It was such an issue, that when carrying my daughter, I was 4 wks out from her due date; there came an evening when she didn't get the hiccups. ?????? This was very very strange. The next day, she was not active, whatsoever. That night, she did not have the hiccups, either. The following day, I went into the L&D at 4pm....had a baby girl at 10pm.
I know it's pretty common in pregnancies for the babies to get the hiccups. However, what I found unusual was in 2 separate births (both with SB), they would get the hiccups every single night. It was the normal, at the time.
My mom had always told me that she knew something was different with her 4th pregnancy (my brother who's now dec) because the first 3 did not get the hiccups much of the time as the 4th.
My daughter, now 9, gets the hiccups daily.....very unusual for her to have a day without the hiccups. She also is one of the only people I've known, who can drink a few swallows of something and they go away instantly. She doesn't have to do the experiments (swallowing sugar, holding breath, etc.)
I talked with my daughter's neurologist and asked her if she'd heard anything about this (she's very familiar with sb as well). She said she hadn't, but if she ever did see anything, I'd be the first to know; said it was pretty interesting to her.
Has anyone ever dealt with this?
I know there have been individuals who've had the hiccups for years at a time, but I was just wondering if perhaps, there might be some connection so SB along with.
