Just taking a look at some sights. I have an 8 month old with sb and am really struggling lately to deal with it.

Welcome! Please share you struggles with us. Many of us have been where you are now and we are still kicking! I for example am a 40 year old South African guy with SB.

Thanks for being so welcoming. The last couple of months things have gotten better and been a little easier. My son is now crawling and he seems to be treated more like a baby than like an unfamiliar object. SInce his personality is coming out more people react more to that than to the fact he has SB. It has been REALLY nice!

Hi proudmommy

I too have an 8month old baby boy with SB sacral region.

And I too am still totally freaked out by the whole thing.

This forum is a great resource. I have been viewing for a while now but have only just posted for the first time.

I know what you mean about your baby being treated like a real baby or in my case
something that has to be wrapped up in cotton wool.

My baby is starting to show interest in wanting to crawl & it almost brings tears to my eyes. I try to get my 3 year old to crawl along side to encourage him.

I am seeing a counsellor which is helping. I realise now you have to literally go through a whole grieving process. But how long does it take? Just when I think I'm doing okay then I'm down again.......

As mentioned in my earlier post We care starting urinary catheder next week & are currently trying to solve constipation issues.
