We had the worst week and a half of our lives! Last Monday my daughter complained of a stomache ache that after about a day and a half got worse and worse, took her to emergency on Wednesday only to find out she had appendicits... so Thursday morning they performed the surgery and saw that her appendix had ruptured...And not to mention the fact that my oldest daughter had scheduled surgery the same day AHHHHH... Then on Sunday the day we were going to be released she spiked another fever and was in major pain again.. after an ultrasound and CT scan the following day (which was the worse day by far) they confirmed that she had an absess in the spot that I kept telling them was bothering her for the few days after surgery.. So there we go another surgery only 5 days later... they placed a tube into the absess to drain with a tube sticking out her side... then on the very same day my husbands car broke down... I WAS SO STRESSED... I COULDNT BELEIVE ALL THIS STUFF COULD HAPPEN ALL IN THE SAME WEEK!! They took out the tube on Thursday and we finaly made it home yesterday with 2 different antiobitics and a kid who is finaly getting better after a whole week and half of hell.... ANYWAYS THATS WHY I HAVE BEEN GONE BUT I AM BACK ...:kleenex:

In fact this type of stuff is the story of my life... Has anyone ever noticed that some people go through life without much tribulation... and others (me) go through so much in one lifetime... I hate to think that way but sometimes I cant help it... why me? why my kids? What I do to deserve it all????

Man, you are right -- that is one rough week! Glad it is behind you and glad the kids are on the mend (hope the car is too).
Remember -- what does not destroy me makes me stronger!

Yeah, I know what you mean. My mom used to have a saying when I was growing up. She used to say "God never gives you more than you can handle." As I got older and people would say that, I'd always tell them, "Yeah, but sometimes I wish He didn't have such faith in me!" I tell you though, He must have a lot of faith in your family and mine. My parents were both raised poor and when they got married, they didn't have a lot of money. Well, six months after they got married, my dad got in this major accident and almost lost one of his legs. They ended up spending their first Christmas in the hospital together. He still has his leg, but he's limited in what he can do physically because of it. And well, nine years later, they had me, their surprise (freak show) baby. I swear, God must have a lot of faith in my family.
I'm glad that your daughter's feeling better though. Appendicitis is no picnic. Or so I've heard anyway. I haven't had an appendix since I was 3. They took it out either during my bladder augmentation or my bowel obstruction. I'm not sure which. They were both in the same year anyway. Well, anyway, I hope things continue to get better for your family.

Oh no, LillyPie!!! What a horrible time you guys had. I'm glad it's nearly back to normal now and that your daughter is on the mend. Poor thing, they say it's terribly sore. Is your older daughter allright after her surgery as well?
You have the right to feel angry and upset. I feel like that too, and we don't even have a baby with SB and everything that goes with that. I'm just so tired of something going wrong with my children. My eldest have epilepsy, and now we're struggling to get my daughter's incontinence diagnosed. My husband said why don't we just take our babyson to the doctor for every test under the sun, so that he can be diagnosed...seeing as all our children have something wrong with them... But then I look into their trusting, beautiful eyes and I realise I cannot be bitter. They're awesome and I won't change them (with any and all problems) for anything in this world. Just take one day at a time and remember, things usually does look up again!
I'm sorry about your friend's daughter's death. That's awefully sad. What happened?

oh man, what a rough time! Praying things settle down for you soon.
I'll try and be brief lol. Hang in there!
I think we may 'all' have a certain amount of hard times and good times to experience over a life time. For me I think I've done my time, with the hard,er times.
For this particular, mountain of a hard time your having, there will be an equally good time to be had, enjoyed all the more surviving the hard times.
Lisa is right, what doesn't destroy you makes you stronger.
Try and 'take' some time for yourself. Thinking of you, wishing you a bit of balance.

She developed a hole in her stomache which caused a septic infection.... she fought for 23 days and he is devastated.... Please everyone one Pray for her and her family... Her name was Erin Page... I asked him to join this forum but I dont think he ever did. I wish he would have.. He woulda made a lot of friends. He started something called Climbing for Spina Bifida to raise money for SB research. He loved his daughter as much as one person could love another... I will pray for John Page and his family

I will pray for them too! It's very sad. No parent should have to go through that. :(
So sorry to hear of your dreadful experience. I do hope things are getting a bit more on track these days.
I know how you feel about being dealt a bad hand, I felt VERY bad for years at not being able to find another partner after my husband left me many years ago, especially as I had a disfunctional family when I was young - Mum and Dad hardly ever there - Being evicted from our home when I was in my young teens and having to live in lodgings where people couldn't care less about you as long as they got there money each week, and then ending up with a very violent husband! It has left me being very bad at coping with any "ups and downs". Life isn't fair, is it? But we have to just get on and deal with it as best we can!
To finish on a more positive note - just been to Manchester and stayed in a very nice hotel, everone without exception were extremely friendly and helpful, And went to see Cesar Milan "The Dog Whisperer" Brilliant.
All on my own!:clap2:

Emm... So how was it.. Seeing Cesar Milan " The Dog Whisperer ".. I love to watch him!!! He whipps those K-9's into shape huh!!!!:dance2:
He is a very funny man, and I mean as far as his presentation. The audience was in fits of laughter at his comical representations of the dog world. I was more than a little surprised as I thought it would be more like a lecture. My daughter who has two dogs - a rottie & an akita - wanted to get some answers to a couple of problems so her & her daughter paid to get into the VIP section but only three questions were picked out so that was a bit of a con as we see it. However, apart from that I would recommended the show to anyone.:clap2:
