Has anyone done a 3-d ultrasound on their baby to see if there is a true opening or possible skin on the opening?
We scheduled a 3-d ultrasound for our baby for 29 weeks and just wondering if they were able to see another view of the SB in formation...

I asked the ultrasound staff but they haven't had anyone with a SB baby request it.

Thanks in advance!

I had a 3D ultrasound immediately after they suspected SB. I'm going to post a few pics of the 3D ultra sound too, you can really see a lot more... I think anyways... one of the pics is kinda graphic, its of Lillys back right after she was delivered... Some people may freak out but you really can see what it will look like somewhat... In the 3d we were really able to see facial features so Im sure they can see into the lesion some as well, they were able confirm that it was meniges and the spinal cord in the sac from this type of ultrasound. I think its a good idea to ask, but keep in mind it will not change anything, only provide you with more info to ease your mind and prepare yourself ... ya know...

We had a few 3D ultrasounds at the perinatologist's office... they couldn't tell whether or not there was any skin over Sweet pea's lesion. There wasn't.

Thanks lilypie and Ziggy!
I am just wondering and i am curious to see. Nothing is too graphic in my eyes but I would like to see if there is or isn't skin covering. I will post the pics as soon as it is done. We are doing it on 3/18!

just a 2d ultrasound done & they could see that it is covered and there is a sack. They also said that the spinal cord is not inside & it appears to all be fluid. If they can gather that much info just from a 2d I can imagine that they could see clearly on the 3d/4d ultrasounds.

Woohoo! We did the 3D but she was at a stubborn angle adn couldn't see her Sb opening. BUT... she was moving her little legs around. She stretched out and then brought herself back in a fetal position during the ultrasound which made us very pleased to see!

I'll have pictures up in a few minutes!!!

Thanks for all you guys' inputs!
