Hello Billi-Jo and Charlize!
Welcome! :happy065:
There are quite a few folks here who have the Mitrofanoff and/or Mace.
I have only the Mitrofanoff.
I can honestly say its one of the absolute best surgeries I have ever had.
It solved my incontinence permanently. My only regret is that I only got it in my early 30's (I'm 42 now).
It is quite a strenous operation for an adult to go through, from, what others have said it is a lot easier for kids.
For Charlize to grow up into her teens and adulthood without all the issues that come with incontinence would be a huge advantage. Not only for her health but her socialisation would be so much easier.
For me getting the Mitrofanoff done changed me from a shy reclusive introvert into a happy outgoing socially functional adult.
I could get involved in a serious relationship for the first time.
I'm currently studying for a teaching degree and will be a high school teacher - something I wouldn't even have considered possible before I had the surgery.
I have absolutely no reservations in saying - Go for it!
