Not sure if this is okay to post this here but need some input--
My son is 14 months old and we have been having bowel issues and having UTIs even though he is cathed four times a day. We have talked with our developmental pediatrician about a c-tube but he wants to wait to see if Micah needs bladder surgery later on. My husband and I feel like it would benefit him NOW and later. He is pretty mobile, has AFOs and is getting his first walker next month, so he is constantly leaking stool and smells terrible because it is stuff we fed him 3 or 4 days ago. Please help!

I've read a bit regarding the Cecostomy procedure after reading your post. I really have no answer for you other than this. My daughter who is now 11 is just now having a surgery performed next month for her incontinence issues. It was planned about 3 years ago when she was 7/8 however I was in school at the time (single parent) and knew I could not dedicate a full 8 weeks to her 24/7 until I completed school and was very permanent at my new employer. We didnt want her missing 8 weeks of school either so had to wait till this summer! All that was told is that they wanted to be 200% positive her kidneys had no function before operating. Maybe they just want to give your son more time to prove one way or another?

It was one of the best things we ever did for C. He had it at 5.
