Chiari and rollercoasters

My son is 9 years old. he has a 4mm herniation Chiari 1.

He has never had a decompression and he does not have many symptoms. ( other than a headache when straining)

I was told by his Neuro awhile ago that he should never ride on rollercoasters or ANY jarring amusement park rides.

Does anyone know WHY this is true?
Has anyone had a bad experiance with having a Chiari and riding roller coasters or rides?

They usually tell you that if you have a shunt. I have never heard of it because of chiari though.
