Hi all.:signs116:
I'm a 42 year old single male who was born with Spina Bifida T12 myelomeningocele. By far, my biggest life challenges have been psychological. Besides being prone to depression and severe anxiety, I struggle daily with self-esteem and self-confidence issues. It's no exaggeration to say that these issues have been more of a handicap to me than my S.B. could ever be.

For a long time, I've been looking for an online forum where I can meet others with S.B., to connect with and learn from, share experiences, and maybe even make some new friends in the process. I'm hoping that this is the place I've been looking for. I look forward to reading your posts and comments, as well as adding my own contributions to this forum. My best wishes to you all.

Thanks, Dodger67. I'm glad I found this site. I like your animated avatar, by the way.

Welcome, Huntan. I am a myelo as well, at T-2 (incomplete, lofstrand crutches). I have battled absolutely vicious depression my whole life. I am socially secluded, myself, and it hurts. In fact, I had a horrible flare up just today when I located a person on the web with whom I had had a falling out.

But I digress. While I wish this place were a tad bit busier, it has been a literal lifesaver. It's great hearing folks deal with the same tings I do, and see how they handle it, whether I agree or not.

Welcome, and I seriously hope you and I can learn from eachother.

Cheers. :happy065:

Thanks for your encouraging reply, eng188. I can certainly relate to the pain of being socially isolated. Now that you mention it, this site does seem a bit slow. Still, I look forward to getting to know you and others here. My best wishes to you.
