I just had this weird sensation/sound thing happen in my head. It was like pressure in my ears and head, and white noise type sound at the same time. It lasted for about 2 minutes, then I was fine. I had hydro as a baby, but it went away and my shunt has been non functional and not needed for a long time. The paranoia is still there though. Anybody else ever had this, SB or not, hydro or not?:connie_mini_lalalal <----This seemed all too appropriate!
Yes, I've had the same thing happen! I have no idea what it is, but it's definitely a weird sensation. I would love to hear if someone knows what it is!!!

Oh good! I'm so glad someone else has had this! Especially someone without SB! I feel 100% better now! Still don't like the sensation, but at least someone else is weird like me! LOL!

OMG, A few times I've had vertigo with tinitis. It's a ringing in the ears and a super dizzy feeling. Each time knocked me out for 2 weeks. IDK if that's what you experienced but noise in my head freaks me out! I freaked out this morning because I could feel my pulse on the side of my head!

I get this sometimes too. Were you turning your head at the time? Sometimes it happens when I do that and I think it's related to tight neck muscles.

I wasn't turning my head when it happened. I did turn my head in the middle of it to try to make the noise stop, but it didn't help.
When I get it, there doesn't seem to be any obvious cause, and it stops just as suddenly as it starts. I can't do anything to make it go away, it just does within a few minutes.

That is basically my one and only symptom of shunt and chiari. For the past year now I have had one of those episodes at least once a day. The doctor says it could be either. I refuse to do shunt surgery if I can live with the symptoms. So, you might need to see your neurologist or neurosurgeon.

Summer,
Do you have any pain or any other symptoms with it? Now I'm nervous. I've never had any problems with any of this.

It was like of like taking off in an airplane, except for the pressure wasn't all in my ears. It was in my head too. I could still hear, but it was like there was a buzzing type sound on top of everything.

Summer,

The pressure is all in my head. I did recently start having what the doctor said were minor seizures during it, but all I do is my hand shakes. I actually go into panic attack, because it just is weird and freaks me out now, so not sure if that has something to do with it. But all the other symptoms started about 6 months ago. Like I said, the head pressure is my only sign of a shunt malfunction. I never get headaches unless the pressure in the air is higher. There for a while it stopped completely, but recently has come back with a vengance with the new hand shaking symptom. That's why the doctor felt the need to check the shunt. I actually just like two days ago felt the top of my head and noticed that where the shunt was has basically caved in and the bulb part is on the side of my head. The last doctor I saw said the shunt wasn't in a position he would put it in...lol. So, now I'm thinking it might be the shunt. I just hate taking the time to go to the doctor with school going good. Ok, now I probably scared you more. If you have anymore of them then definitely get it checked out. You never know, it might have been a one time deal.
