Hi everyone I'm new to this web site. I myself don't have Spina Bifida but my 3 week old does. She has Myelomeningocele, Hydrocephalus, Chiari II, and Club feet. She has had her back closed and her shunt put in. I also have a two and a half year old. My husband and I know alot about the facts but I feel like I just don't know how to take care of her. It would be nice to find someone to talk to that knows what I'm going through.

Welcome. Lots of here can fill in the gaps between medical advice and real life :) Ask away!

Welcome!:happy065:

Rule 1. She is a baby.
Babies need: Love, warmth, security, feeding, cleaning, sleep, communication, stimulation, etc.
If you keep this in mind, 90% of your worries are solved.

We'll do what we can to fill you in about the other stuff. Ask us whatever you want because no question is too trivial or too difficult.

One more thing: You have introduced Zoe to us, but who are you?

its not as hard as it seems at first. the first couple months are the hardest, we're almost to month four now and its really not that bad at all. there are some definate differences, but it'll amaze you how normal she is after a while.:p

I recomend faith, love and educating yourself. Everyone has valleys they go through or has a certain lot or burden to deal with. Best to you and your little one!
