hi guys,
thanks so much for the advice and reassurance on my last thread, you really helped put my mind at ease at what we were going to face.
i havent got back to anyone yet, as ive just got out of hospital. i had some heavy bleeding with clots on wednesday, was admitted to hospital on the thursday to find my cervix open with my waters bulging and my little babys leg basically hanging in there.
i was rushed to theatre to have a stitch put in (mcdonald suture) and i just got out of hospital today.
has anyone had one of these sutures? im getting a lot of pain in my lower tummy i was just wondering if this was normal?!
anyway, thought i had better update

Oh, no Dreamer! What a scare! I don't have any experience with that, but I wish you lots of luck and calmness for the rest of your pregnancy.

My cervix was putruding out off and on, for a couple of months early in my pregnancy. I had stay off my feet and keep them up as much as I could. It got better as the baby grew it pulled everything back into place. He (obgyn) had talked with me about the stitch, but we didn't have to do it. I never had any heavy bleeding or anything like that though. I had several scares with preterm labor (I was on shots from week 16 to delivery to keep me from going into labor) If I were expierencing any pain or cramping I would go back to the doctor, better to get it checked out. At least call and tell them what you are expierencing, and see if they want you to go back to be checked out.
Please keep us updated on how everything is going. Good luck.

Seconded! :happy065:
Praying for you and your little one. My mom had a friend when I was younger that went into really early labor. Her water broke at about 18 weeks and they kept her in the hospital and kept putting fluid inside her uterus for about 2 weeks to give the baby extra time to grow. They also were giving the baby steroids to mature the lungs. This worked until she developed a fever, and they had to let her deliver. Fortunately that little 1 lb baby boy is now 16 and doing great! I pray for a similar outcome for your little one!

thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayers, unfortunately my little one was born at 11.28am 4th April 2011 weighing 5oz @ 17+4 weeks gestation.
i had my stitch removed at 7.45am that same day and labour progressed.
thank you all so much for your kind words over the past week or so, this past 10 days or so have been such a roller coaster, from finding out my little angel had spina bifida, to then finding out my cervix was open and having an emergency stitch put in, to then going into labour. i cant believe what has happened, im in complete bits, just dont know what to do with myself or how to deal with these. this is the second loss, my first loss was a little girl with anencephaly in 2002, never for one second did i think it could happen again, im devastated.
Oh my gosh Dreamer. I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you and your family. I'll be praying for strength and peace for you. :(
