Mitrofanoff Question????????

is the scar from the mitrofanoff scar really bad???????? I want to get a tattoo on my hip but I don't want to do it yet because I dont want it to get messed up.

The hip should be ok. My scar goes from my lower chest downward straight through my belly button. It does not go across. However, I would talk to your doctor before doing it, to make sure they won't do it the other way.

Ty's mitrofanoff scar starts just above his belly button and goes downward. He does not have any scars on his hips. But I agree I would wait and ask the dr first. The only thing I can think of is with Ty the tape did go on his sides a bit but we had a hard time taping the catheters in just a bit.

Mine goes straight down the middle with a little "detour" around my navel
