I have been invited to attend class of '97 15 year reunion in Jan 2012. I will definitely attend if I graduated Senior High grade 3 (grade 12) in '97, but I only completed Junior High grade 3 (grade 9) in '94. I was just casual friends with the majority of my classmates, but we still remember one another. On one hand, I am curious to catch up with them, but on the other hand, should I? when I wasn't that close with them.

Last but not least, I don't know whether it's done purposely or not, but the reunion falls on my 32nd birthday.

Why have you been invited if you were not in the class of '97?
Unless you're sure to have a great time! I'd think about risking a memory that may haunt every birthday to come....?
I don't know but can't school reunions cause all sort of emotional drama's.
You've got time to sus it out.

I attended a special school that had nursery, primary and high school all in one building. Because I have been with the same classmates since primary grade 1, they invited me. Also I think another reason is the graduating senior high school class of '97 is very small (10 or so people) as compulsory education ends at primary grade 6 and disabled people do not usually attend and complete senior high. Therefore, everyone who was on the track for '97 got invited.

I know it sounds strange and this situation is not as common in mainstream, ordinary schools.

Since they invited you, if you think you will have fun, I say go!

If you got on well with people, go.

I have no intention of going to my 10 year reunion (if they even bother doing one). They made my school years a living hell. I have stayed in contact with those I want to. I don't care about the rest.

I've never been to a school reunion. I went to 4 different high schools, so the friendships i developed in that time didn't last. The college I went to in Vermont is a VERY small two-year school, with maybe 400 students. I think my graduating class (A.A. Liberal Arts, '97) was maybe 10.

That time in Vermont still traumatizes me somewhat. I was not ready for college. I would always procrastinate, and thereby get myself in holes where I needed to make up HUGE amounts of homework.

My social situation was miserable, somewhat owing to my poor self care, and somewhat owing to the fact I was the class dunce, the guy who always had homework problems.

All that said, I wish everybody I met there well, and love getting the newsletter, and seeing that my classmates have made good lives for themselves. I like to think all grudges would be forgiven if I showed up at a reunion event. And it may be the case. But it doesn't mean I'd connect all that well regardless.

I keep going back and forth on whether I'd ever want to go to a college reunion. I like to think it would be fun, but it might be terribly awkward.

That sounds great then, you can birthday party all day and reunion party all night, sounds like you're in for a memorable day.:):)

Similar to eng188 I was moved to a few different secondary schools, as the family moved around. I briefly made a few friends, but maybe not, always left them behind as we moved. I think it suited 'me' with a poorly managed urostomy ( I see, Charlie Brown/Snoopy character trailing behind the group in a cloud of dirt.......sad, blissfully oblivious at the time) It's like some past life now.
I do now remember being tracked down by Robyn Ferguson to go to a primary school:confused::arrgh::( reunion. I hesitated for a minute (at the time I was an employer, business owner blah blah....looking......hot in my mid 20's), but the horror of reliving a minute of primary school, I switched off. Go away.
It sounded nasty, she was the ugly duckling at primary so we knew each other, of course she developed into drop dead gorgeous!.....organising the reunion.
I too wish them all the best, but I forgive and forget them, please forgive and forget me.

So enjoy!
