Are afo's supposed to be like this?

I have them they're thick and up to alomst my knees,my legs are always bent like i'm sitting,but with the afo's i have bad balance problems,worse than normal,because they have me on my tip toes! I've mentioned them to my orthopedic but he tries to fix it but ends up the same way! Please help

sounds like you could use GRAFOs... they push the knees back and force the heels to the ground.

Do all children's hospitals do that? I go to scottish rite hospital for children in Dallas Texas,do you think they'll do that? I do there next on Nov 22.Thank you:)
