Just want to thankyou Lisa, you are an inspiration.
I am very pleased (proud) with myself to be back at University. It was a lost dream until I joined SBC and realised my potential options, my worth.
Thankyou for your generous support, genuine concern, warmth, being you!
Lisa, I think I've just had my real first break from Uni/study thus far, about to start back next week. Now I'm not one to aim for high distinctions, thrilled to pass, but 7 units complete, 1 distinction, 6 credits, I am very content with that.
As you are like part of the foundation of this fab site, you will always be part of my newly found foundations of living better, being better.
"Thankyou!"
Sean.

That's awesome news, Sean! I'm so glad you had a great term. Best wishes for the new one coming up.
And thanks; you're making me blush.

Lisa, you in particular, together with other members, have been very influential in getting me back to university and also very strongly influenced my decision to change my career to disability advocacy.
Making me a moderator has also opened a new world of opportunities for me - and carried me through my "midlife crisis". Thanks! I love y'all!!! :happy065:
BTW: I found the book you recommended at a reasonable price from a local online dealer.

Not to be a buzz kill, but shouldn't this be listed in "off topic"?
I do agree that Lisa definitely inspires us all to think of ourselves as smarter, more capable people. I only wish I had the motivation to go back to school! I congratulate all of you for all that you've accomplished.

I'm a really easy pushover...
Ouch!..to me it's all about SB, this achievement 'now' in my life has been directed by my SB. My inspiration, triggered by my SB friends, the only folk who get it.
My gratitude to Lisa and all at SBC didn't feel 'Off Topic' to me.
Whatever!
excuse me.
Sean.

I'm a really easy pushover...
It's a quality I appreciate at the moment :) it's such a rarity (in relation to the men in my family and 1 or 2 others that won't be mentioned lol) that I must SIMPLY celebrate it when it happens :-p
LOL!!!!!!!
Hate to be a buzz kill, but shouldn't 'your' control and sexuality issues be aired in the "Emotional and Education" forum?
or perhaps your sexist veiws would be better kept for the "Adult" forum. ( a little more private than "Hello"!! Off Topic.)
Wake up Roger.
Cheers
Sean.
(sorry couldn't resist, I will not say another word), except
sorry lisa.

I'm sorry you took such offense to my comment about the thread being moved, but it's going a little too far now. That's a bit of an attack on your part, at least that's how I perceive it ("control and sexuality issues", really??) ...Clearly my remarks toward Roger are/were nothing more than a joke and I'm sure he gets that.
I respect your presence on this forum, Sean, and think you have been very supportive toward a lot of us on here. So I'm going to end the discussion. It was simply an innocent observation that since the topic was not pertaining to anything SB related it should be moved. I'm sorry I even brought it up.
...Think I'll be a quiet observer of the forum for a while.....

Now this really is a buzzkill.
Here ends the brief existence of the LisaJoy admiration society.
Sorry Lisa :happy065:
Doesn't have to be...
Sean's a respected active poster here and he felt his thread was best suited in the "Spina Bifida General Talk" section for the reasons he stated in a previous post.It all seems valid enough.
Perhaps in the future a pm to the author of a thread could be sent (especially to respected long time members) to discuss why his/her thread should/shouldn't be moved before the act takes place.I'm not saying pm's be sent before every thread move...just threads by the people who've got roots here and know the layout of the forum. This way nobody's toes get stepped on.
Sean & Roger, congratulations on getting the schooling done and getting the inspiration from the forum and Lisa to further yourselves.I'm sure you two are an inspiration to the new Moms here as to what their kids can achieve as they grow up.Keep up the GOOD WORK !!!
Lisa...as always...You're the backbone here...A walking talking dictionary on anything SB related. This forum would not be what it is today without YOU,and we all appreciate your input here!
