Looking for ideas!

Hi everybody my name is Sean and I'm from Ireland, the reason i'm on this site is that I'm a final year college student and part of a group doing a project on spina bifida.
Our project is to research/redesign KAFOs and walking aids for a 4 yr old girl.
So if anybody out there(especially parents of young children) has any ideas where improvements could be made or has any problems with there walking supports please please please let me know as we are open to all ideas!

Here's my suggestion: Find a different material for the durn things! I only wore AFOs myself, but I remember all the skin problems that would ensue if the darn things had only the slightest scuff in them.
