View Full Version : Toilet seat ring reducer
I am trying to find a toilet seat ring reducer. Becuase of the cecostomy C needs to be in the bathroom for a very long period of time. We used to use toddler potty seats but he has outgrown them. He still is really uncomfortable with the standard seat though because he could fall right through if he doesn't hold on to something.
Does anyone have some suggestions?
hi Barb, this is also a big problem of ours, been using a todlers potty chair, but he has gotten to heavy and big for it. the ones that fit on top of the regular tolet seat seem to make performing bowel washouts more difficult, less room. sure would like to know a solution!!!
The prices for these things are all over the place! This one is $209.

CRAZY!!!!!!
wow the prices are really crazy, here they can be between 10 and 20 dollars, not too bad. I am going to look around. and let you know
A 'potty seat' that you would buy for a toddler is $10-$20 here that is why I find the prices for a 'ring reducer' so insane. It is like anything in the medical field..........the prices go up just because it is considered 'medical equipment'..........
I checked some prices yesterday, but I could only find the toddlers seat.
going to check some of the pharmacies when I go to the big city. not sure when I will go, the kids start their mid term exams tomorrow, so it will have to be after exams. my oldest son jsut started his first year at university, he is studying to be a pharmist...smile...might be handy ...smile...in the near future

My kids both have an awful time after they sit on the toilet. Due to their incision being low on their back, sitting on the seat for the time they need to tends to want to break down their skin (and I say owwiez!!) We have tried the cushiony toilet seat, but after a time, they tend to crack (and that's even MORE owwiez!!) My daughter ends up having a red ring on her backside and legs that will persist for 2 days. Anyone have any ideas??
still looking for that solution

Seems like a little latteral thinking is required here.
Any competent carpenter could make a ring to your exact specifications quite easily. Nothing better than a customised seat that fits perfectly.
Use MDF and paint with polyurethane epoxy.
thanks for the info, but where I live its hard to order things online, not sure if it can be done. credit cards etc just are not used around here.
so own none
