Had a fairly rough night last night. While I have had the carers coming in, I have been having to go to bed between 8.30 and 9pm, and even though I don't usually go to sleep until gone 11pm, I am stuck there until between 9am and 9.20am the following morning. Well, last night was particularly bad. I went to sleep at the usual sort of time, helped by a couple of cans, and woke up at 3.30 this morning with pain in my shoulder, elbow and wrist. I happened to have a Codeine tablet by the bed that ...

Started the jigsaw again(I think it was yesterday)and got most of the edge done. Had another stab at it today, and then this after to my utter amazement, the board fell off the table again. I normally give up when things go wrong this many times, but something is feeding my determination to get this jigsaw done. The real Titanic only sank once. Thanks for your comments Mathy. I seem to have lost all motivation at present. Even the jigsaw that I restarted has not been touched for a few days.

Then this morning, the manager of the care team came in, and I mentioned about it to her, and she told me that the Physiotherapists at the hospital ...

Things are not going too well at present. As I think I mentioned in a previous post, I became quite down, and started trying to fuzz my brain at night with alcohol to stop me from mulling things over. I finally came to realise what was at the root of my mood drop. It was nothing to do with jigsaws going flying, it is a deep feeling of dread that in less than a week, my sling is due to be removed, and I'm surprisingly not looking forward to it. For nearly six weeks, I have accepted that my arm ...

Yesterday tea time, the power chair decided to malfunction again, but initially, I didn't realise that the bleeping noise I could hear, was the chair. I thought it was the smoke detector in the lounge. It was only when I tried to move the chair, I realised it had gone wrong again. I don't know whether I am cursed with bad luck, but if other power chair users have the problems I've had, then they have my sincere sympathy. Anyway, having 'broken down again, I rang a friend who lives a ...
